Overview & concept

Commerce, scholarship and culture in conversation

Silk Road to America is the flagship event of RUMI Trade and Consultancy: one event with three connected experiences — an Academic Conference, a Business & Trade Expo and a Cultural Night Gala — held over two days in Orlando, Florida.

  • Academic Conference

Research panels and paper presentations on the Silk Road’s heritage, public policy, economics, geopolitics and cultural exchange.

  • Business & Trade Expo

Product presentation, B2B matchmaking and focused exchange with buyers, suppliers, distributors and commercial partners.

  • Cultural Night Gala

An evening of music, performance, conversation and a shared meal.

The proposed program brings together an academic conference, a business and trade expo, and a cultural night gala. Its purpose is to create space for thoughtful discussion, relevant business introductions, and appreciation of the region’s cultural heritage.

Scholars, businesses, cultural organizations, diplomatic representatives, students, and community participants are invited to express interest. The precise dates, the venue and the final program will be announced on this page.

Purpose and vision

Silk Road to America takes its inspiration from the historic Silk Road, which connected markets, scholars and cultures across continents. The event brings that spirit to Orlando, Florida: a meeting place where research, business and culture are shared between Central Asia and North America.

Connecting Central Asia and North America

The event brings together scholars, trade delegations, investors and diplomatic representatives from Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan) and North America. Over two days, participants take part in three connected programmes: an Academic Conference, a Business & Trade Expo and a Cultural Night Gala.

Who should take part

  • Researchers and graduate students presenting work on regional economics, foreign policy, diaspora studies or U.S.–Central Asia trade ties, and academic observers.
  • Business delegates seeking partners through the B2B matchmaking lounge.
  • Exhibitors presenting products and services in a standard or premium booth.
  • Members of the public attending the Cultural Night Gala.
  • Sponsors and partners supporting the event.

Component 2

Business & Trade Expo

Meet potential buyers, suppliers, distributors, and commercial partners in a setting designed for focused exchange. The planned expo combines product presentation with opportunities to discuss market needs and cross-border collaboration.

Exhibitors can introduce their products and capabilities; business delegates can explore opportunities without reserving a booth. Matchmaking requests will help the organizers understand which introductions may be useful.

Business delegates register for the Business Delegate Pass, which is planned to include B2B matchmaking lounge access (no booth space); introductions depend on suitable counterparts and are not guaranteed. Exhibitors can choose a Standard Exhibitor Booth (10' x 10') or a Premium Exhibitor Booth (10' x 20') with expanded exhibition space. Booth inclusions will be confirmed with the final package details.
